I really am Irish, and you really should kiss me. It is tradition, after all. Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you Irish and Irish at heart. It is a wonderfully festive day that encourages you to wear green and pinch people for the lack of green on their person. All in all, a great holiday. Maybe a little wasted on me since I won't be partaking of the green beer so prevelant on this holiday, but I intend to enjoy it, nonetheless.

Chillin' with the homies
This weekend I packed a bag and headed down to SoCal. I came with Vanessa and Robb, but left for my own mini-adventure with the girls. We went to dinner and then hung out at the house. It was nice. I quite enjoyed seeing them again and chillin' like we used to. Meredith and Julie were not able to make it, which saddens me, but hopefully we can hook up next time I come to town. So I'm hitting some old favorite places, visiting my brother and his girlfriend, and enjoying a somewhat leisurly weekend. Good times.

If it's not a good time...
One of the things I remember the Black sisters saying, pretty consistently, is "If it's not a good time, it's a good story." I've taken that to heart, and have endeavored to look at the events in my life with that philosophy. So far, it has served me well. Now I seek to pass on that bit of wisdom to those I've come in contact with. I've found a gym buddy up here, and have been doing pretty well at going regularly (hold for applause of congratulations here...and back to the story), but while we are there, she and I discuss our dating opportunites in the area. Just as an FYI/side-note, I've been on TWO dates in the 6 weeks I've lived in SJ, thank you very much. But I digress. My new friend isn't sure about some of the guys she says yes to. She hates to turn someone down who has screwed up his courage to ask a girl out. When she expresses her concerns over the social awkwardness or some other oddball characteristic of her date, I find myself uttering the infamous phrase..."If it's not a good time, it's a good story."
She agrees. The legacy lives on.

MISSING!
BOLO for: Bostonian Manor blog posts.
Last Seen: Two months ago (December 4, 2008)
Last Known Location: www.bostonianmanor.blogspot.com
Does anyone know what happened to the girls living at Bostonian Manor? I keep checking for updated posts but they seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth (or the face of the World Wide Web). I miss these girls and often wonder what shenanigans they are getting up to. Is Sharon still getting into fights and pushing people out of her office? Does she still get "high" at the office? Does Patty think any other Disney characters are "hoes" along with Tinkerbell? Why isn't Wendy adding her experiences to the blogging family? Her picture is up there. I'm worried...is the house still standing? Are they still alive? How can we live without knowing the random stories and thoughts that make the blogging experience significant to our everyday lives?
There may be a reward offered for any information leading to the discovery of a new blog post from Bostonian Manor.

A new 'do
It was time for a change, so I got a haircut and chopped off a ton of my length (it was to about the middle of my back). I've posted some photos of the new 'do. I like it. I'm using way less product and it weighs a lot less. It hasn't been this short in a long while, and I find that I am enjoying it. So, here is the "new" me!

Count your blessings instead of sheep...
I have been thinking on this subject a great deal in the last few days/weeks, and I am incredibly blessed to know how much I am loved by my friends. So thank you all for your support and incredible friendships. I love you all and couldn't do it without you. I know this blog is beginning to be more mushy than I originally intended, but I have been reflecting and counting my blessings of late, and the gift of friendship is by far one of the most significant I have. So, wherever you are, North or South (California, Carolina, Utah, DC, or anywhere in-between) thank you for being you and taking me as I am. For this Valentine's Day, I'm celebrating love...just the joy and blessing of having it in my life and from so many incredible people.

A Heartfelt Thanks
So I have to give a shout-out to the Garbett family. I opened my mail today, and there was this box sitting there. I thought it was the person sending my textbooks, and they got a little over-ambitious with the packaging. But no...it was a box-full of Valentine cheer from my former roommate, Donna, and her beautiful family. There is all sorts of good times in there (I'm super-excited for the PJs...I love anything sleep-related), and it really made my week. I am so grateful for the random surprises that come my way, and it was really unexpected. So thank you very much Donna, and Michael, Benjamin, and Samuel. It made my week for sure, and probably my month. I know that Heavenly Father knows our needs, and I am thankful for the people he puts in our path to help us out.
Words cannot adequetly express how grateful, and excited, I am by that Valentine love. Much love to you all.
