lily lately

practicing

diva.  with good oral hygiene.

lily's first wall graffiti

making a break for it at the dog park

why, yes, when i asked you to put your crayons
away, i absolutely meant for you to put them in my shoe.

comfort is relative

toddler graffiti shows up on the most unexpected of places

"higher, daddy!"

busted.
more toddler graffiti.  she's prolific.

toddler bed

while i was in slc, kevin transitioned lily to a toddler bed.  the first couple weeks were rough; lots of sneaking out and hanging out in the hall and tons of finding her asleep in random places (including her falling asleep right against the door and having to use it to scoot her back so we can slip in and put her in bed.  super fun!).  we tried "locking" lily in her room--she climbed over the baby gate in front of the door and figured out how to remove the plastic doorknob cover thing.  now, it's lots of "get back in bed," until 1 am or 3 am, when she ninjas her way into our bed.  sometimes she's awake and wants to play, sometimes we don't know when she came in, but wake up when she starts kicking.

toddler beds suck and i'm sleep deprived.  it's like having an infant all over again.  i can't wait for lily to settle into her new normal.

only had to tell her to get back in bed three times.  progress!

the haircut

lily had a pretty serious mullet going on.
it was time to cut it.

it's still curly, but now they are all attractively the same length.

the pumpkin patch

we made a random pumpkin patch stop on saturday and greatly underestimated its popularity with lily.  it was not a pretty scene when it was time to go home.  a repeat visit with more time to spare is definitely needed (and already on the calendar).

she found her pumpkin and did not put it
down the entire time we were wandering the site.

model alpaca.  this boy knew how to find his light.
and i'm pretty sure he was "smizing" at me.

"it's buddy the sheep!"
(lily's sitter's husband has a stuffed sheep in his truck named buddy.  lily is in love.)

"it's a donkey, like eyore!"
(winnie the pooh & co are very popular)

the train was a popular spot.  she wanted to hang out
here for days.
cutest little conductor ever.

leaving the pumpkin patch was pretty traumatic.

lbc reunion: slc version

i had the good fortune of being able to meet up with my lbc girls in salt lake city.  it was a weekend of catching up, meeting the misses vivian and jillian, and having lots of fun with some of my favorite people in the world.

beautiful hike and beautiful view.  also, jillian is a trooper.
