I heart

I love different architectural styles and design elements, but two of my favorites are Art Nouveau and some Art Deco. I heart these two styles. If I could decorate my house with unlimited funds and without input from another party (ahem, Kevin), then I think I would fill it mostly with these two styles. I love the lines, the colors, the attitude found in those elements. One of my favorite buildings of all time is the Chrysler Building in NYC; Art Deco. In Prague, some of my favorite elements on buildings were the Art Nouveau details. I'm a geek, I know, but you all love me despite it. I just love architecture and the little details that make it great and the decor items that come out of it. Love, love, love.

My New Addiction

I received my anniversary present early; an iPhone 4! Yea, they are on the Verizon network now. But that thing can consume your life. I've been playing games, reading books, texting, cruising FB, reading CNN when I'm supposed to be working. And I only got it on Monday night. It is the handiest gadget ever. I love it. Seriously, one of the best gifts of all time. I think I might get Kevin one for Christmas. And then we can be obsessive nerds together.

New Family Member

I got the best news when I got home from work tonight! My brother proposed to his girlfriend, Kerry. They've been together for about five years now, so she's already part of the family. Now it is just becoming a little more official. Jeff proposed this morning, in a uniquely Jeff way, but the bottom line is, he and Kerry are now engaged! I heard the news and was so happy and excited for them, I started to cry. Go Jeff! There is another Klima wedding in the works.

Day of Sloth

I am a big believer in days of sloth. I think they are necessary every once in awhile to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. So, I took a day to hang out at the homestead and pretty much hang around and watch some mindless TV and do mindless tasks. I'm watching an entire season of HGTV Design Star (and learning lots--so it is kind of an educational break as well...), gave into my craving and made caramel corn, had some girl time with Maggie (she likes design shows, too). I am being completely lazy and am OK with that. I may need some take-out or frozen yogurt just to bring the lazy day full circle.

Hand-me-downs

I'm a big believer in giving things away that I don't use anymore. Kevin found a necklace that is child-size in a box in the garage. I don't wear it anymore (I'm obviously not child-size), so I gave it to someone who could wear it. It jazzes up her look and she has been enjoying it for the past few days. Enjoy her cuteness!

I am grateful for...

Good friends who keep an eye on me and give me a heads up when my pendulum might be swinging one way or another to the extreme. You know who you are. *tear fingers* to you all.
