halloween fun...part III

actual halloween arrived!  my parents came down for a quick trip and it was so fun to have them here.  we celebrated mom's birthday (it was a few days earlier, but lily loves a birthday party, so we celebrated).  a couple klima family traditions have been handed down to lily this year; monster finger cookies (sugar cookies shaped like a finger, sliced almond for the nail, and a little red food coloring for blood where it was ripped off the monster's hand).  mom & dad brought the dough down, and spent some time in the kitchen with lily shaping and baking.  she was in love.  trick-or-treating was a blast, and lily wore herself out.  we capped the evening off with a flaming pumpkin (soak a roll of toilet paper in kerosene for a couple hours, place it in the jack o' lantern, and light it on fire).  it was a fun weekend, and went by way too fast.
