every night, when i put you to bed, i tell you that you are the best part of my day. i hope you know that i mean it. i hope you know that, no matter how much you aggravate me during the day, you will always be the best part of it. i marvel at quickly you are growing. your dad & i look at each other so often, surprised that time has moved so quickly. how did you go from being our tiny baby to this walking, talking, opinionated three-year old so quickly? how did i blink my eyes and have this tiny human in front of me? i love seeing your personality come through more & more each day. you have such a love for your friends and ask if one of them can come over every day. you are fearless when it comes to asserting yourself in your group, and i hope you always keep that. i hope that you are able to be a friend to those around you, but forge your own path. i hope you will defend those who need it, and walk away from those who don't matter and try to tear you down. i hope you always have a love for learning things and, even when you get older and are hanging out with your friends, you still have fun hanging with your parents. i hope you know that our little tribe is the base you can always come back to.
at the end of the day, i want you to know that you are always the best thing about me. no matter what else i am doing, where i am, and how many things i want to do, you are the best part of my day; the part i am most excited to see when my work day is done. i am so happy to be your mama and am so excited to see where you go and who you become as you grow up. stay strong, stay assertive, and always remember who you are. you are my favorite little lily bean, and i love you. so much.
